Artist Biography

Guss enlisted in the US Army in September 1998. He attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Since then he has toured three combat engagements in Iraq serving in positions such as Squad Leader, Noncomissioned Officer in Charge and Chief Warrant Officer.

He discovered his musical prowess in 2001 when two bystanders observed him calling cadence one morning on Schofield barracks Hawaii. Military cadence is a traditional call-and-response work song sung by military personnel while running or marching. The two men asked Guss to lend his voice to help them record at a nearby music studio in Pearlridge Hawaii. He fell in love with music production that evening and has been recording ever since. His vocals have been compared to R&B greats like R.Kelly, Avant and Ronald Isley of the Isley Brothers.

Guss has independently produced and recorded five solo R&B albums "Georgia Heat", "Pheromone", "After Everything", "Next Time" and "Vicarious". His works have gained him a strong nationwide fan base on Social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Airplay and Reverbnation. His music is routinely played on 94.1 the Beat which is a local Savannah, Georgia Hip Hop and R&B station. In an interview conducted by Marquea Folston, CEO of Trill Magazine, Guss was asked what motivates him to continue to create music. He responded, "I am an artist and like many other artists I am driven by a powerful force that compels me to express myself. I often draw and paint, but singing to me is the closest I've ever been to flying aside from being in a helicopter or plane."

He is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University with a Degree in Occupational Education. Guss' military awards include 2 Bronze Star Medals, 5 Army Commendation Medals, the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon and the Air Assault Badge. He has also been awarded the Army Superior Unit Award for leadership contributions the week of the September 11th attacks while assigned to the 65th Engineering Battalion, Schofield Barracks, HI.

Guss is married to Wytisha Nicole Knight of Savannah, GA. They have one daughter Amaya and a son Brinden.
